PRINTARA 542 C
Using This Color in Your Artwork
Use the LAB values in the Color Values section as the production color targets. Follow the setup for the type of artwork you are submitting.
Illustrator or other vector artwork
Create a spot-color swatch in LAB and enter the L*, a*, and b* values listed below. Keep the color as a spot color in your vector file.
Photoshop or other raster artwork
For raster artwork, keep the entire Photoshop document in Lab Color mode and use the L*, a*, and b* values below. Save and submit it in a Lab-capable format, such as PSD or TIFF, without converting it to RGB or CMYK. This preserves the LAB targets in the source file; it does not guarantee an exact print. The RIP still converts the color for the selected printer, ink, and material using its output profile, so use the physical Printara Color Chart as the production reference.
For Adobe users: synchronize color settings with Bridge
- In Photoshop, choose Edit > Color Settings. For consistent screen and HEX comparisons, set RGB Working Space to sRGB IEC61966-2.1, set RGB policy to Preserve Embedded Profiles, then save the settings as a preset.
- Open Adobe Bridge and choose Edit > Color Settings. Select that preset and choose Apply to synchronize it across Adobe apps.
- Bridge synchronizes color-setting policies; it does not convert existing documents or calibrate displays. Existing documents keep their assigned profiles. For a HEX comparison, convert a copy to sRGB with Edit > Convert to Profile.
Color Values
Copy values individually. LAB is the production color target; HEX is a screen reference.

SCREEN REFERENCEColor mode warning: If a Photoshop document is converted from Lab Color to RGB or CMYK, Photoshop converts the color data and the original LAB values are no longer retained. Keep raster production artwork in Lab Color mode. Color match notice: Printara colors are proprietary; we do not claim they are Pantone matches or endorsed by Pantone. Use the physical Printara Color Chart as the production reference. Please note that slight color variations are inherent in the printing process, and exact color reproduction cannot be guaranteed. HEX is a screen reference and can look different across displays. Follow the artwork setup instructions above.
