Behind the Print

From Artwork to Finished Graphics

Every Printara job goes through a hands-on production process designed to deliver consistent color, clean finishing, and graphics that are ready for the real world.

Here’s what happens behind the scenes.

01 — Preflight

Artwork & Preflight

It starts with your artwork.

Before anything goes to production, we review the file for the details that matter at full size—dimensions, resolution, bleed, cut paths, and other production requirements. If something looks like it could create an issue during printing or finishing, we catch it before material hits the printer.

Good printing starts with a production-ready file.

Vinyl and specialty print media selected for production
02 — Material

Material Selection & Setup

Not every job belongs on the same vinyl.

The selected media, laminate, application, size, and finishing requirements determine how the job is prepared for production. Printer settings and media profiles are matched to the material to help maintain consistent output from one job—or panel—to the next.

Precision Large-Format Printing

This is where the artwork becomes a physical product.

Our large-format production is powered by Epson SureColor S8170 and S9170 solvent printers.

The S8170 uses a 6-color UltraChrome GS3 ink configuration designed for high-production output while maintaining consistent image quality. The S9170 expands to an 11-color ink set for an exceptionally broad color gamut and demanding color reproduction. Both are 64-inch platforms built for professional signage and display graphics.

The result is vibrant, detailed output across the vinyl, film, and specialty media we use every day.

Printed graphics being laminated
04 — Protect

Drying & Lamination

Printing is only part of the job.

When the application calls for it, the printed graphic is allowed the appropriate time before being paired with its laminate. Lamination adds another layer of protection and can also determine the final appearance—from gloss and luster to matte finishes.

Epson's UltraChrome GS3 ink system is designed to support fast drying and same-day lamination under appropriate conditions, although actual timing depends on the media, ink coverage, environment, and laminate requirements.

05 — Finish

Cutting & Finishing

Once printed and laminated, the graphics move into finishing.

Depending on the product, that may include:

Contour cutting · trimming · paneling · weeding · masking · slitting · or cut-to-size finishing

This is where a printed roll becomes the finished product that arrives at your door.

Printara quality inspection of finished printed graphics
06 — Inspect

Quality Check

Before a job leaves Printara, we give it a final inspection.

We check the print, material, finishing, dimensions, and overall presentation so problems are caught here—not when you're ready to install.

07 — Deliver

Packed & Ready

Finished graphics are carefully prepared for shipment or pickup with the goal of getting them to you clean, protected, and ready for their next step.

From the file you upload to the graphics you install, the entire process is about one thing:

Print it right. Finish it right. Send it ready.
